Drill Sgt. King's Battle Tactics
[Round I] Send ALL letters CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED. This starts their mandatory 30-day clock!
[Round I] Include proof of address with your initial letter to neutralize Trick #2 — the address stall.
[Round II] If they don't respond within 30 days, federal law says they MUST REMOVE the item. Send the Removal Demand Letter immediately!
[Round II] Use the FTC Opinion Letters to back your position. The bureaus respond very differently when they know you know the law.
[Round III] Contact your STATE Attorney General at naag.org. Once the AG gets involved, the bureau's phone calls to you become much more respectful!
The bureaus use an automated denial machine. Here's how to beat it.
What Is E-OSCAR?
E-OSCAR is the bureaus' automated dispute processing system. A clerk assigns your letter a 2-digit code — your actual words are never read. Template letters trigger instant auto-denials. These 7 tactics break the algorithm and force real human review.
Never Use Templates As-Is
E-OSCAR flags common dispute letter patterns and auto-denies them. Rewrite every letter in your own first-person voice with specific dates, dollar amounts, and personal impact.
Attach Documentation
Bureaus must forward your documents to the furnisher. Attach ID, bank statements, payment receipts, or police reports. Physical evidence cannot be auto-denied.
Demand Verification Procedure
After any "verified" response, send a follow-up under FCRA §611(a)(7) demanding the specific procedure used: who verified it, when, and what records they reviewed. E-OSCAR's 2-digit code cannot answer this.
File CFPB + State AG Simultaneously
Dual-filing forces a human non-E-OSCAR response cycle at the bureau. Thousands of "verified" items have been deleted this way.
Sue in Federal Court
If E-OSCAR "verifies" without a real investigation, they violated FCRA §611. File suit for $100–$1,000 per violation + actual damages + attorney fees. Bureaus settle rather than prove E-OSCAR did a real investigation.
No disputes logged yet. Every fight starts with the first letter!
